Ideation Design Group, although started in January of 2004, has a lengthy history between its two partners, Carl F. Schaffer and Jennifer A. Reynolds. Carl F. Schaffer, AIA was previously President of AAD:Fitch in Scottsdale. He brings to the table 25 plus years of experience in both food and beverage design as well as retail design. His vast expertise has culminated in the airport venues. Jennifer Reynolds was Design Director at AAD:Fitch for seven years under Schaffer. Her flair for themed designs kept clients like Jose Cuervo Tequila, Fox Sports and Expedia.com evolving and award winning. Together, the design philosophy, customer service and ideology about how to run a design firm have made this team a progressive look into the architecture/interior design future. Ideation’s current clients include, HMSHost, Bonfire by Todd English, Delstar, Jose Cuervo Tequila, Expedia.com, Fox Sports, Bacardi USA, Diageo, and Harley Davidson.

Rick has over thirty three years experience as drafter, designer and project manager in commercial foodservice and interior architecture industries. Specializing in foodservice design, he has experience in many facets of the industry including design, construction documentation, shop drawing review and installation supervision. He is also a professional member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI). Rick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Phoenix in 1976. He has been happily married for twenty nine years and has three grown children and two grandchildren.

Tom specializes in providing direction and guidance to the production team at Ideation to generate high quality construction documents to the hospitality field. He collaborates with his production team with information provided by the owner’s architect and designers as well as in house staff. Prior to his current position, Tom had 25+ years experience in high quality millwork and metal design, fabrication and installation. This experience has developed Tom in to a great team leader and problem solver. Born in Flagstaff, Arizona and raised in Phoenix, he now resides with his wife and two children in Glendale, Arizona. Thomas plans to continue advancing his leadership skills to help energize and direct employees for extraordinary performances.

Doug has over twenty years of architectural experience, specializing in restaurant and retail tenant improvement projects in Airports, Malls and Shopping Centers nationwide. He excels at attention to detail, design development, communication and client satisfaction. He has experience with ground up, one off projects and large national roll out accounts. Doug also has experience with commercial building and excavation, foodservice design and equipment installation in the resort and health care industries. He is also well versed in residential architecture. Doug was born and raised in Reno Nevada and moved to Phoenix in the 80’s to continue his education. He has been happily married for 26 years and has two grown children.
